Welcome friends and neighbors! I'm Wendy and I'm running for Montclair Township Council - Third Ward. You may also know me on social media as digital creator @themontclairnista. I'm not a politician, and that's exactly why I'm running. I'm a passionate Montclair resident and proud Montclair State University alumna whose focus is building community, connecting people, collaborating with small businesses to contribute to their growth, and helping others thrive wherever they are.
Why I started this journey...
I started this journey because I have a deep desire to serve as a compassionate, collaborative voice for our residents and to contribute to having more diverse views represented. If elected, I would be the first Latina to serve on the Council. Studies show that inclusion leads to more productive decision making, wider perspectives and increased innovation.
More ethnic diversity is not the only thing we need on the Council. We need people who come from varied career backgrounds, generations, socioeconomic status, possess different communications styles, and have the skills to bring creativity into problem-solving. I’m confident that with my 20+ years in communications and marketing building connected, unified experiences for established, global organizations, I can bring that and much more to our community.
